Best cold soups for hot days!!!

Do you love soups, but on hot days you start to sweat just at the sight of a warm meal?  Do not panic. Nothing is lost because I have a great solution. The cooling star of the summer – is  on the  menu. Delicious cold soups are a great addition to the summer diet – they are light, full of vitamins, macro- and microelements, they quench thirst and cool the body from the inside. Besides, such a cold chiller menu can be remarkably diverse. Be sure to try all of the suggestions – especially when the sun heats up the summer days…

Cold vegetable soups

Cold soups are usually prepared on the basis of natural yoghurt, kefir, or buttermilk. Some people prefer sour milk, but real milk is not easy to get. Fermented dairy products make an excellent basis for cold soups, although they are not necessary. Cold soups made of vegetables only, especially those with a lot of juice, such as tomatoes, are also very tasty. And what vegetables do we use to prepare cold soups. The beetroot is primarily associated with cold soup. Immediately after that, young radishes, cucumbers, sorrel, or spinach. But cold soup can also be prepared from leeks, carrots and even garlic.

Cold Fruit soups

Fantastic coolers can be prepared from fruit, especially seasonal ones. They are delicious, sweet, and refreshing. It is a soup and dessert rolled into one. Children especially love them, but adults may also drool at the sight of them. I still remember the taste of a cold sour cherry soup that’s y Grandma was making for us during the summer days…. Believe me, when I say to you, that is on that’s hot day there was really nothing better than that !

Cold soups from around the world

Cold soups  is not only our Polish specialty. Cold soups are eaten almost all over the world, especially local ingredients. The cuisines in southern Europe are particularly rich in cold soups : Spaniards, Portuguese and Bulgarians eat them.

Ajo Blanco

 is a traditional Spanish garlic and almond cold soup, popular in Granada and Málaga. It works perfectly in hot weather – it helps to hydrate the body, and thanks to almonds, olive oil and bread, it is so filling that it can be a separate dish. It is also a good source of unsaturated fatty acids.

Traditional Lithuanian Borscht

The recipe for Lithuanian cold beetroot soup is a great idea for a traditional dinner on hot days. It will especially appeal to lovers of eastern cuisine. This dish is something that is in my childhood home, we always had during the summer months… till this day , I am making it here  and I still love its flavor.

Spanish Gazpacho
